Encouragement

There are many people with many talents in this world.  I would say that I’ve always had a really hard time identifying those which set me apart and make me unique.  I have the gift of gab and I’m a rather friendly sort, so I guess communication would be my forte. Geesh I hope so, I’m still paying off the student loans for that Bachelor’s degree in the very same concentration.

Anywho—it took me a while to realize just exactly what made me good at communicating and specifically with people.  Let’s face it—so many people can and do communicate every single day—although some of us are better at it than others.  So a few years of wisdom and hindsight—I was able to eventually see I was pretty good at two things: gaining the confidence of others and encouraging others.

According to dictionary.com the here is the definition of encourage:

1. to inspire (someone) with the courage or confidence (to do something)

2. to stimulate (something or someone to do something) by approval or help; support

I guess by nature this would make me an encourager.  (Wait is that a word?)  I honestly try to only encourage when I can genuinely do so…and feel in my heart of hearts that it is the right thing to do.  People have always been at the heart of what matters to me.

For example, I’ve never been one to encourage another person to drink a bottle of wine all by themselves, whenever I could help it.  I've always encouraged them to share a glass or two with me *wink-wink*.  You know that old saying IS true—the more the merrier!!

So now it is time to put my powers of encouragement to the test!!  I hope I don’t fail miserably and have a mid-life crisis.  That would wouldn’t work out well in the grand scheme of things.  Let’s see if I can do a little encouraging here on this post!!
