Fringe

 

It is "F" day on the A to Z Challenge and it is also Friday, which happens to be one of my favorite days of the week!!  Friday has many benefits—all of which we will not discuss here. However one of the many things I love about Friday is that my DVR is scheduled to record one of my favorite shows on television.

Bizarre? You betcha. Gross? At times, absolutely. Confusing? Until I caught on, yes it was. Captivating?  Heck YEAH!!  Addicting?  Can we say hooked??  Of course, I’m referring to Fringe—probably the weirdest and most intriguing show I’ve ever watched on television!!

 

  

As a general rule—I rarely watch television. I only record three shows a week and watch them faithfully—always at night and always when the kids are asleep.  I haven’t found much else that I’ve liked outside my three favorite shows—and Fringe is one of the ones I look forward to.

I guess Fringe would be categorized as science fiction television series.  It includes things such as parallel universes, strange phenomenon occurrences, bald men, called “Observers”, who show up when major events are about to happen, and a story line that follows the Fringe division of the FBI, which investigates all these unusual events as they occur.  The three main characters are Peter Bishop (played by Joshua Jackson), Olivia Dunham (played by Anna Torv), and Walter Bishop (played by John Noble).  Personally, I find Joshua Jackson easy on the eyes and John Noble’s character to be a hoot!!

I think what attracts me to this show, besides Joshua Jackson—is how intertwined the plot is—and how genius the creators, writers, producers, etc., are. They really think up some of the most clever and craziest stuff I’ve ever watched.  (Of course, I don’t watch very much—so my experience is very limited).  How they think this stuff up—and pull it together---and make it interesting?? It is totally beyond me and I find it fascinating.  Each week I have to have my fix—so perhaps they are doing something right! 

Dang—I’d love even a smidgen of that creativity!!
